Stephen joined Arlington as a Director at the end of 2001 and has been CEO since 2006. He has some 35 years’ experience working in financial markets, initially as a lawyer and more recently in managing broking and fund management firms.

In 1988 he formed a consultancy firm that focused on corporate finance, financial communications and similar projects. During the 1980s he was with the Norwegian bank Den norske Creditbank (now Den norske Bank) both in Oslo and London where he worked initially on corporate and project lending and subsequently as head of a capital markets department covering Scandinavian debt and equity securities. In the early years of his career he worked for Linklaters where he qualified as a solicitor in 1975 before specialising in company and finance law, and for Manufacturers Hanover Limited, a U.S. owned investment bank now part of JP Morgan Chase.

Stephen holds a BA degree in Jurisprudence from Wadham College, Oxford University. He is also a member of the International Corporate Governance Network and the UK Investor Relations Society.
